Day 1: Marrakech to Dades
On the first day of your 8-day tour from Marrakech to Fes via Merzouga, you’ll begin your journey in the morning. Depart from your hotel or the airport in Marrakech and head to the Dades Valley. As you venture into the High Atlas Mountains, you’ll ascend the famous Tizi N-Tichka pass, which reaches an elevation of 2260 meters.
Throughout the day, you’ll have the opportunity to make several stops and take in the breathtaking scenery, characterized by a variety of hues and punctuated by tiny Berber settlements. At these stopping points, you’ll be able to look around and capture photographs to document your journey.
One of the notable highlights of the day’s itinerary is a visit to the Ait Benhaddou Kasbah, a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1987. This historic site has been featured in numerous iconic films, including Lawrence of Arabia, Gladiator, Kingdom of Heaven, and more.

Day 2: Dades to Merzouga
We will leave Dades and go to the Todra Gorges after a traditional Moroccan breakfast. Take a walk through the tight tunnel and take pictures of the big walls that reach up to 300 meters high. A lot of people like to rock climb here.
Then we continue our 8-day tour from Marrakech to Fes towards the Merzouga Sahara Desert. On the way, we will stop at a local restaurant for lunch. These sand hills are where we’ll be in the late afternoon.
Take a camel ride into the middle of the desert that lasts for 1.5 hours. At the top of one of the largest sand dunes, you can watch the sun goes down.
Enjoy a tasty meal while dancing and playing traditional Berber drums. Then, spend the night in a standard or luxury desert camp under the stars.
Day 3: Merzouga desert tour
Early in the morning, your camel guide will wake you up so you can see the sunrise over the Erg Chebbi dunes. Seeing the sunshine over the sand dunes and give them a golden glow is an experience you will never forget.
You will go back to your riad or hotel in Merzouga after breakfast and meet your driver/guide for an off-road trip through the desert. The Khamlia town is a Berber village famous for its deep Gnawa music, and you will have the chance to visit it. You will also see some old mines and an area with palm trees.
This trip is a wonderful way to learn about the Berber way of life and culture. You will see how the farmers take care of their goats and horses and live in tents. Also, you will be able to try some traditional Berber drinks and foods.
You will come back to Merzouga after your trip and have some free time to walk around town. This town is very nice and has lots to offer tourists. You can walk around the souk, go to the nearby mosque, or just sit in one of the many shops and have a cup of tea.

Day 4: Merzouga to Midelt
Today, we leave the Sahara Desert after an unforgettable off-road adventure and encounters with nomadic people. After breakfast, we continue our 8-day desert tour from Marrakech to Fes, stopping in Rissani and Erfoud along the way.
In Rissani, we will visit the authentic souk, where you can wander around and shop like a local. You can find everything from souvenirs and spices to traditional clothing and jewelry.
From Rissani, we will continue on our way to Midelt, pausing along the way to take in the panoramic views of palm trees across the Ziz Valley. This lush valley is a welcome sight after the desert landscape.
After Errachidia, we will pass through the Rich Ziz Gorges, a series of dramatic canyons carved out of volcanic rock. We will then drive over to the Tizi N Talghamt Pass and arrive in Midelt.
We will spend the night in Midelt at a comfortable hotel, where we will enjoy dinner and breakfast.
Day 5: Midelt to Fes
Our 8-day desert tour from Marrakech will continue after breakfast as we head from Midelt to Fes. In the Middle Atlas Mountains, we will go by small, old Berber towns made of mud along the way.
Before we go anywhere else, we’ll stop at the famous Azrou Cedar Forest, where we can see and take pictures of the Barbarian macaques (monkeys). These cute animals are a big draw for tourists coming to the area.
We will go from Azrou to Ifrane, which is a beautiful mountain town that is sometimes called the “Switzerland of Morocco.” The mountain buildings, cedar woods, and trout-filled lakes in this town make it famous.
Our first stop will be in Ifrane. The next stop is Fes, where we will check into our hotel or riad.
Day 6: Fes guided tour
People who visit Fes should not miss the chance to see some of the city’s oldest and most interesting buildings. You can take an interesting half-day walking tour through the busy medina with a guide who knows the area well. You will then have the afternoon off to see more of what the city has to offer. The Fes Medina has been a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1981. It is the world’s largest and busiest old medina.
You will see a lot of old historical sites on your trip in the Old Medina (Fes-el-Bali). Some of the coolest things you can do are visit the Nejjarin Museum, Al Quaraouin (the world’s oldest university), the Jewish Quarter, and get a better look at Fes’s famous leather tanneries from above. A good night’s sleep in a nice hotel or riad will end your day.

When you arrive at Chefchaouen, you have free time to explore the town on your own and enjoy a panoramic view of the blue town from the Spanish mosque. After lunch, we will go back to spend the night in Fes.
Day 8: Departure from Fes
