You will experience the authentic Morocco with our 2 day tour from Marrakech to Zagora desert. Aside from enjoying the camel ride and camping, you will visit the Atlas Mountains, Ait Benhaddou Kasbah, and atlas studios.
Note: The Zagora desert is a rocky and dry desert with little to no sand dunes. If you’re looking to experience real sand dunes, we recommend our tours from Marrakech to Merzouga, home to the stunning Erg Chebbi dunes.
Our 2-day tour starts from your hotel in Marrakech at 8 am, heading to the desert of Zagora. Along the way, we will discover different interesting attractions. To start with, you will visit the High Atlas Mountains on the road of Tizi N Tichka, where you will make a quick stop to admire the shapes of the mountains at a high sea level of 2260 meters.
After driving for about 2.5 hours, we will arrive in the Kasbah of Ait Benhaddou, a historic fortified village dating back to the 11th century, with most of its current mudbrick structures from the 17th century. You will have about an hour there before we take you to a restaurant for lunch.
Our desert trip continues to Ouarzazate, where you will visit Oscar, one of the largest and most famous film studios in the world. Known as the “Hollywood of Morocco,” it has been the backdrop for countless international blockbusters and TV shows, including Gladiator, Game of Thrones, Kingdom of Heaven, and The Mummy.
In the afternoon, we will arrive at the last destination, the Zagora desert. There, we will take you on a camel ride to the camp. At the camp, you will have dinner, relax, and enjoy the Berbers playing drums.
After a night in the desert camp, it is advised to wake up early to watch the sunrise. After breakfast, we will head back to Marrakech via the same road as the previous day. On the way, we will stop at the Draa Valley, home to Morocco’s longest river and one of the country’s most beautiful oases.
We will arrive in Marrakech after driving through the Atlas Mountains, and we will take you to your hotel. End of our tour.

The price of this 2 day tour from Marrakech to Zagora varies depending on the number of travelers, accommodation type, and travel season. Please feel free to contact us for a free quote!
The tour typically starts around 8:00 AM in Marrakech and ends around 6:00–7:00 PM on the third day back in Marrakech.
For 1 to 4 pax, we use an SUV, either a Land Cruiser, Toyota Prado, or s Mitsubishi sport. For 5 to 8 pax, we use a minivan. For more than that, we use a minibus.
The 2 day tour from Marrakech to Zagora is private.
The tent in the desert camp of Zagora is private with a private bathroom.
The camel ride is about 30 minutes.
We recommend comfortable clothes, sunglasses, sunscreen, a small backpack, and a jacket for the cool desert night.
Yes! The tour can end anywhere else you want. However, you may go to another desert instead of Zagora.
The camel ride is optional. We can arrange a 4×4 transfer to the camp.
