This 10-day Morocco tour from Marrakech is a wonderful way to discover the country’s most famous cities, desert landscapes, and mountain scenery. Starting in Marrakech, the tour takes you through the Atlas Mountains, Dades Valley, Merzouga Desert, Fes, Chefchaouen, Rabat, and Casablanca before returning to Marrakech.
During the trip, you will visit old medinas, enjoy beautiful views on the road, and experience the real variety of Morocco. From the busy streets of Marrakech and Fes to the quiet dunes of Merzouga and the blue charm of Chefchaouen, each day brings something different.
This itinerary is perfect for travelers who want a full Morocco experience with comfort and a private pace. It combines culture, history, nature, and the desert in one well-planned journey.
Our driver will meet you at the Marrakech airport and provide a transfer to your riad. Depending on your arrival time, you can begin soaking in the atmosphere of the “Red City.” You might spend your first evening wandering toward Jemaa el-Fna, the main square, which comes alive at sunset with food stalls, musicians, and a bustling local crowd.
On the second day, you will explore Marrakech with a local guide to learn about its history. The tour begins at the Koutoubia Mosque, famous for its 12th-century minaret that dominates the skyline. From there, you will visit the Bahia Palace, a beautiful 19th-century residence known for its intricate wood carvings, gardens, and tiled courtyards. You will also see the Saadian Tombs, a royal burial site from the 16th century that remained hidden for hundreds of years.
Afterward, you will walk through the narrow streets of the medina, passing through different sections of the souks where craftsmen make everything from leather to metalwork. The tour finishes back at Jemaa el-Fna square, giving you a chance to see the street performers and enjoy time on your own.
Around 8 am, we leave the city and begin our drive across the High Atlas Mountains. We will cross the Tizi N’Tichka Pass, stopping at various viewpoints to look out over the Berber villages tucked into the hillsides.
Our first major stop is the Ait Ben Haddou Kasbah, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. This fortified village is made of mud-brick and has served as a backdrop for many famous films. After exploring the Kasbah, we continue through Ouarzazate and the Skoura palm grove. We will then drive through the Rose Valley, famous for its annual rose harvest, before arriving at the Dades Valley for the night.
After breakfast, we will head toward the Sahara Desert of Merzouga. Along the way, we will stop at the Todra Gorges, where the river has carved deep, narrow canyons into the red rock. You will have time to walk along the riverbed and marvel at the cliffs that rise over 300 meters high.
In the afternoon, the landscape changes as we approach the desert. Upon reaching Merzouga, you will leave the car behind and mount a camel for a trek into the Erg Chebbi dunes. You will reach the camp just in time to watch the sunset over the sand. The night is spent in a desert camp, where you will enjoy a traditional dinner and music.
It is worth waking up early to see the sunrise change the color of the dunes from dark orange to gold. After breakfast at the camp, we will start our long drive north toward Fes.
Along the way, we pass through the Ziz Valley, which is lined with thousands of palm trees. We will cross the Middle Atlas Mountains and stop at the Cedar Forest near Azrou, where you can spot Barbary macaques living in the trees. We will also pass through Ifrane, a town known for its alpine-style architecture, before arriving in Fes.
Today is dedicated to exploring Fes, the oldest of Morocco’s imperial cities. Your guide will take you to the Royal Palace to see its famous golden doors and then through the Jewish Quarter (Mellah). You will also visit a pottery cooperative to see how the city’s signature blue-and-white ceramics are crafted.
Later, you will enter the ancient Fes el-Bali medina on foot. You will visit the Bou Inania and Al Attarine madrasas, which are stunning examples of Islamic architecture. You will also see the Al-Qarawiyyin University, founded in 859.
The tour concludes with a visit to the Chouara Tannery, where you can watch the traditional process of dyeing leather from a terrace.
In the morning, we leave Fes and drive toward the Rif Mountains. By midday, we arrive in Chefchaouen, the famous “Blue City.” Because the town is smaller and more relaxed than Fes, you will have the afternoon to explore on your own.
You can walk through the blue-washed alleys of the medina, visit the Spanish Mosque for a view of the entire valley, or relax in the main square, Outa el-Hammam, near the old kasbah.
After discovering the blue city, we will leave the mountains behind and head toward the Atlantic coast.
Our first stop is Rabat, the capital of Morocco. Here, you will visit the Hassan Tower, an unfinished minaret from the 12th century, and the Mausoleum of Mohammed V. You will also walk through the Kasbah of the Oudayas, which offers peaceful views over the Bou Regreg River and the ocean.
In the late afternoon, we continue our drive to Casablanca, where you will spend the night.
In the morning, you have free time in Casablanca. You will visit the Hassan II Mosque, which is built partly over the water and features some of the finest craftsmanship in the country.
You will also enjoy a walk along the Corniche and visit the Habous Quarter for some last-minute shopping.
In the afternoon, our driver will take you on the highway back to Marrakech, where you will check in for your final night.
This will be the last day of our 10-day Morocco tour from Marrakech. Our driver will take you to the airport to catch your flight.

A magical 10 day tour that gave us a lot of cultural insight on Morocco, going around several important cities and historical sites. Our guide Lhoussaine was always so informative and kindly shared with us so many of his Berber roots and traditions. Not to mention how beautiful the accommodations were for such a good price, including so many heartwarming meals. We were always greeted with great respect and hospitality everywhere we went and it is for this we will cherish such a trip forever.
How to express the magic that was lived during this 10 days adventure with 13 of my friends….Unforgettable! From the pick at the airport, welcome to Morocco with sweets , a smile, cold water, and a wealth of information to follow! Touring with Hamid and Hassan is a must. Their patience with 13 women with different interests were met without a problem. The desert, Chefchaouen, Fes, Casablanca , and Marrakesh, to name a few of our discoveries. History lesson, shopping, amazing food, thank you for a magical moment! I recommend this touring, you will not be disappointed.
My partner and I had a fantastic trip with Touring in Morocco, on a 10 day 4×4 tour of the region. We started in Casablanca and travelled around a number of the imperial cities and tourist sites (including a fantastic overnight experience in the desert), before finishing in Marrakesh.
Our guide, Mohammed, was an excellent travel companion – extremely patient and easy going, with in depth knowledge of the best photo stops/tourist experiences worth visiting along the route.
Would highly recommend this tour/company to family & friends, thanks Mohammed for an excellent experience.
