    Day 2: Casablanca – Rabat – Tangier

Today, we will travel from Casablanca to Tangier with some interesting stops along the way.

We will leave Casablanca and drive to Rabat, the capital of Morocco. Here, you will visit the Hassan Tower, a tall minaret that was never finished, and the Mausoleum of Mohammed V, a royal tomb with beautiful Moroccan design. You will also explore the Kasbah of Les Oudayas, an old area with white-and-blue houses and views of the river.

After lunch, we continue our journey north to Tangier, a city by the sea. Before we take you to the hotel, you will visit the famous Cave of Hercules, a natural cave full of legends and ocean views.

Day 3: Free Morning in Tangier – Transfer to Chefchaouen

After breakfast, you will explore the city of Tangier, one of Morocco’s northern jewels. You can walk through the old medina, see the port, and visit some of the city’s famous spots. Tangier is where the Atlantic Ocean meets the Mediterranean Sea, and it has a special mix of European and Moroccan charm.

In the afternoon, we will drive through the beautiful Rif Mountains to reach Chefchaouen, the blue city. Once you arrive, the best way to start your visit is by hiking up to the Spanish Mosque. From there, you will enjoy a stunning panoramic view of the city and watch the sunset.

After that, you will return to your riad or hotel to relax for the night.

Day 4: Free Day in Chefchaouen

Today, you will have a free day to explore Chefchaouen. You can walk through the blue streets, take pictures, and enjoy the peaceful atmosphere.

You can start by visiting Outa El Hammam, the main square in the old city. It is a great place to sit, relax, and enjoy the street performers.

Then, you can walk to Ras El Ma, a small waterfall just outside the city walls. It is a quiet place where you can enjoy fresh mountain air and the sound of running water.

You can visit the Kasbah Museum. It is inside an old fortress and shows local history, traditional clothes, and Berber culture.

    Day 5: Chefchaouen – Volubilis – Meknes – Fes

Around 9 or 10 am, we will leave Chefchaouen and begin our journey to Fes. On the way, we will stop at two important places.

Our first stop is Volubilis, an old Roman city with ruins. You can walk through the stone streets, see the mosaic floors, and take pictures of the ancient buildings.

After that, we will drive to Meknes, one of Morocco’s imperial cities. Here, you can visit the famous Bab Mansour gate and see the old walls, markets, and royal buildings.

In the late afternoon, we will arrive in Fes. We will take you to the riad, where you can rest and get ready for the guided tour of Fes the next day.

    Day 6: Fes Guided Tour

Today, you will explore the old city of Fes with a local guide. The tour starts at the Royal Palace, where you will see the golden doors. Then, you will visit the Jewish Quarter, known as the Mellah, before heading to a viewpoint that overlooks the entire medina.

Next, you will enter the historic medina, a UNESCO World Heritage site. Inside, you will visit the Al-Qarawiyyin University, the oldest in the world, and the Al-Attarine Madrasa, known for its detailed tile work. You will also stop by the Nejjarine Fountain and explore the Chouara Tannery, where leather is dyed using traditional methods.

Along the way, you will see local artisans making pottery, carpets, and metal crafts. You will have free time on your own after the guide drops you off at the riad.

Day 7: Fes – Middle Atlas – Ziz Valley – Merzouga

Today, you will travel from Fes to Merzouga, passing through beautiful and interesting places.

The first stop is Ifrane, a clean city known as the “Switzerland of Morocco.” Here, you will see the famous Atlas lion statue, a popular photo spot.

Next, you will visit the Cedar Forest near Azrou, where you can see wild Barbary monkeys in the trees.

We then drive through Midelt and stop at the Hassan Addakhil Dam near Errachidia. The blue water and mountain views make it a great place for photos.

After that, we continue to the Ziz Valley, known for its palm trees. You can stop to enjoy the view and take pictures.

In the evening, you will arrive in Merzouga. You will stay in a hotel near the dunes and get ready for a full desert experience the next day.

    Day 8: Merzouga Desert Tour

Today, you will fully explore the Merzouga desert, which is often the favorite part of the tour for many travelers. You will begin by visiting Khamlia, a small village known for its Gnawa music. The people here come from Sub-Saharan Africa, and they will welcome you with traditional songs and a cup of tea.

Next, you will head to the Mifis mine area, where locals once worked in salt and kohl mines. After that, you will meet a Berber nomad family living in tents in the middle of the desert. This is a special moment to learn how they live with very little, moving with their animals and staying close to nature.

In the afternoon, we will take you to start the camel ride. You will ride on the golden sands of Erg Chebbi, enjoying the peaceful feeling of the desert. Before sunset, you will arrive at the desert camp. After checking in, you can climb the dunes to watch the sunset.

In the evening, you will have a traditional Berber dinner at the camp and enjoy live music by the fire.

Day 9: Merzouga – Rissani – Todra Gorges – Dades Valley

Sunrise over the dunes is something you should not miss. After breakfast at the camp, we will leave the desert and drive to Rissani, a town that was once a busy stop for caravans that used to trade. Today, Rissani is home to one of the largest markets in the desert region, where locals buy and sell fruits, spices, clothes, and even animals like donkeys and goats.

After exploring the market, we will continue to Fezna to visit the old underground irrigation system. These small tunnels were built long ago to bring water from the mountains to farms in the desert, and they are still impressive to see today.

Next, we will stop at a Berber women’s cooperative. The women are friendly and will show you their handmade crafts. If you like, they will dress you in traditional Berber clothes for fun photos and offer free henna designs.

In the afternoon, we will drive to the Todra Gorges. These tall cliffs rise high on both sides of a narrow path with a river at the bottom. It is a great place to walk, take photos, and enjoy the fresh air.

By the end of the day, we will reach Dades, where you will spend the night.

    Day 10: Dades – Skoura – Ouarzazate – Ait Benhaddou – Marrakech

After breakfast in Dades, we will drive to Marrakech and visit different attractions on the way.

Next, we will visit Ouarzazate, called the “Hollywood of Africa.” You will explore the Atlas Studio, where many movies and shows were filmed.

After that, we will go to Ait Benhaddou, a famous old Kasbah made of clay. It is a UNESCO site and has been in many films. You can walk to the top for great views.

Then you will see the Saadian Tombs, the 16th-century resting place of the Saadian dynasty, sealed for years and rediscovered in 1917.

Later, you will wander the souks of the old city—lively lanes full of color and scent, with stalls selling spices, handmade crafts, carpets, and traditional clothing. These markets have been part of Marrakech life for centuries.

After you discover Marrakech, you can continue exploring on your own or return to your hotel to relax.

    Day 12: Marrakech – Essaouira

Today, we will drive from Marrakech to Essaouira, a trip that takes about 3 hours. Once we arrive in Essaouira, you will have free time to explore the city. During our fabulous 14-day tour of Morocco, we spend one morning racing across the Moroccan Sahara in 4×4 vehicles, then had a wonderful time riding Camels up into the Sand Dunes. Once there we dismounted and waited for the sun to set, getting some terrific pictures. Our Camel tender was a delightful and very personable young man named Youssef who spoke with us in perfect English, saying he was studying English & French and hopes to become a Tour Guide in Morocco one day. This was a wonderful experience we shall treasure and remember forever. As we will remember Youssef for his kindness and conversation–we wish him the best in all future endeavors–a wonderful representative for his country.

Everything was great! Starting with the helpfulness during the booking process: Youssef was always available to answer any questions I had very quickly, meeting our needs in defining the perfect tour for us. The bookings made in the accommodation (with dinner included) were all above expectations: all clean, large, with very good food, more than worthy of the ‘Deluxe’ package purchased…

My partner and I took this spectacular tour accompanied by an excellent guide, Eder, a very nice, helpful and professional guy. He showed us wonderful places and explained many things about Moroccan and Berber culture. He was not just a guide, but an excellent travel companion!!!…
