Day 1: Marrakech – High Atlas Mountains – Ait Benhaddou – Ouarzazate – Dades Valley

The tour starts with a morning pick-up from your accommodation in Marrakech. We drive through the High Atlas Mountains via the Tizi n’Tichka Pass, stopping along the way to visit a Berber village on the side of the mountains.

On the way, we will also stop to visit a women’s cooperative of argan oil, where you can learn how this traditional Moroccan oil is made and see the natural products they produce.

We then continue to the Ait Benhaddou Kasbah, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and famous film location. Here, you will have about an hour. After lunch, we head to Ouarzazate, where you can visit one of the Atlas Film Studios. From there, we drive through the Rose Valley and arrive at the Dades Valley for dinner and an overnight stay in a local hotel or Riad.

Day 2: Dades Valley – Todra Gorges – Merzouga (Camel Ride & Desert Camp)

After breakfast, we leave the Dades Valley and head toward the Todra Gorges, where you can take a short walk between the tall canyons.

We then continue through the cities of Tinjdad and Erfoud, arriving in Merzouga in the afternoon. Here, you will enjoy a glass of tea before you ride a camel across the Erg Chebbi dunes, with time to watch the sunset from the top of a dune.

You will spend the night in a desert camp, enjoying a traditional dinner and live Berber music around the fire.

Day 3: Explore the Merzouga Desert – Nomads – Gnaoua Music – Hotel Stay

It is recommended to wake up early to watch the sunrise over a dune near the camp. After breakfast, our driver will take you on a full day discovering the desert.

You will start with a visit to Khamlia village, where you will listen to traditional Gnaoua music performed by locals with deep African roots. Then, explore the Mifis mine, once used to extract kohl and minerals.

Next, our driver will take you to visit a nomad family living in tents, where you will see how they live simply and bear the harsh desert. You will also stop at an oasis, surrounded by palm trees and small fields.

In the afternoon, we will return to the Merzouga center and take you to the riad.

We booked our own hotels for a four day trip, but were looking for a private driver. We booked Touring in Morocco and they sent Hassan, who was our driver and guide on our four day trip to Ait Ben Haddou, Sahara Desert Camp, Marzouga and Tinghir, Todra Gorge and then back to Marakech. Hassan was wonderful, he is a skilled and save driver and arranged everything for us during our trip and above all he is a nice and kind man…

This is me and my kids’ first time in Morocco, and I am glad I found this touring company to assist us in learning and sightseeing some of the most amazing places in Morocco. Our driver, Mohamed, is one of the most patient and kindest people I have ever met. He was always patient with us, considering some of the most difficult unforseen circumstances that we had to deal with…

    • Matteo G

We had 4 wonderful days. Beatiful landscapes, perfect guide. Idir has been very punctual, friendly and accompdating. He also was flexible to adapt to our preferences, understanding local culture and my wish for taking pictures.
Pretty good also for Italian speakers, not only English and Spanish!

      Absolutely recommended!
